| NFL National Qualifiers |
| OGHS is a Charter Member School in the Mississippi Forensic League (MFL) which is a district of the National Forensic League (NFL). Students can compete at the MFL tournament for a chance to compete at Nationals. The top 2-3 (depending on the number of entries) in each event get this opportunity. Events offered at NFL are Policy Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Senate, House, International Extemporaneous Speaking, United States Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Humorous Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation. Once qualifying for the NFL National Tournament, competitors can also compete in supplemental and consolation events. Supplemental Events at Nationals include Prose, Poetry, Extemp Commentary, and Expository Speaking. Consolation Events include Storytelling and Impromptu Speaking. |
