Kristen Greer - Senior Member

Tournament Director/Novice Coordinator

This is the fourth and final season for Kristen.  She is a three-time NCFL National Qualifier (2006, Declamation; 2007,
Declamation; 2008, Duo Interpretation), and a two-time NFL National Qualifier (2007, Public Forum; 2008, Duo Interpretation).  
In 2008, she was a national quarterfinalist in Expository Speaking.  She begins the 2008-2009 season as the NFL point leader for
the Mississippi District.  She has qualified to the state tournament in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Public Forum Debate, Declamation,
Poetry Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Original Oratory, Expository Speaking, and Duo Interpretation.  In 2008, she and
partner Christian Green, won the MFL District Championship in Duo Interpretation for their performance of
The Suessification of
Romeo and Juliet
.  Over her three previous years on the team her performance has earned her the 2006 Freshman Award, 2007
Sophomore Award, 2008 Debate Dork, and was the first recipient of the Kent D. Ford Service Award.  During the 2008-2009
season, Kristen plans to compete in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Duo Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, Original Oratory,
Storytelling, Expository Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Congress.  She has also competed for the OGHS Mock Trial
Team and is a two-year member of the OG Delegation to Mississippi Youth Congress.
Emily Bustin - Senior Member

Interpretation Captain

Emily begins her third season with Warrior Forensics, and her second as Interpretation Captain.  It is no surprise that she was
awarded the Junior award in 2008.  Emily is a two-time NCFL National Qualifier (2007, Oral Interpretation; 2007, Oral
Interpretation).  In her two previous seasons, she has qualified to the state tournament in Prose Interpretation, Poetry
Interpretation, Declamation, Dramatic Interpretation, and Lincoln-Douglas Debate.  Emily has also competed as a member of the
OGHS Mock Trial Team and the OGHS award-winning Drama Department.  She was a castmenber of the SETC runner-up
production of
The Crane Wife and the SETC Champion production Tales of Trickery.  In the coming season, Emily plans to compete
in Public Forum Debate, Dramatic Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation.
Zach Shurden - Senior Member

Debate Captain

Zach begins his second year with the team, and his first as an officer.  In 2008, he qualified to the NCFL National Tournament
(Dramatic Presentation).  He qualified to the MHSAA State Championships in Policy Debate, Public Forum Debate,
Extemporaneous Speaking, Dramatic Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation.  During his senior year
season, Zach plans to compete in Public Forum Debate, Dramatic Interpretation, Extemporaneous Speaking, Poetry
Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Television Commentary, and Congress.
Paromita Mitra - Senior Member

Secretary

Paromita begins her second year with the team as the Team Secretary.  She is a one-time NCFL National Qualifier (2008, Oral
Interpretation).  During her first season, she qualified to the MHSAA State Championships in Prose Interpretation, Poetry
Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Storytelling.  During the coming season, Paromita plans to compete in
Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Prose Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Storytelling, Duo Interpretation, Humorous
Interpretation, and Congress.
Blakely Owens - Senior Member
3-Year Team Member
Speech Captain

2008-2009 will be the third season as a member of Warrior Forensics for Blakely.  She is a two-time NCFL National Qualifier
(2007, Public Forum Debate; 2008, Original Oratory), and a 2008 NFL National Qualifier (Original Oratory).  Her teammates
awarded her the "Most Dependable" and "Best in Speech" awards in 2008.  She has qualified to the state tournament in Public
Forum Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Prose Interpretation, Expository Speaking, and Original Oratory.  At the 2008 state
event, Blakely won the State Championship and the MFL District Championship with her speech
Mightier Than The Sword.  
She also won the 2008 State Championship in Expository Speaking with her speech
I'll Fry Away.  She placed 4th in the 2008
State Individual All-Around.  In 2008-2009 , Blakely will compete in Public Forum Debate, Original Oratory, Expository
Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking, Duo Interpretation, and Congress.  She has also competed as a member of the Mississippi
YOuth Congress team.
Kirsten Raimey

Tournament Director

Kirsten's Junior Year will be her second with Warrior Forensics.  She is taking on the biggest responsibility of the year in hosting
the Fifth Annual Warrior Invitational during our Ten-Year Anniversary Season this year.  But her team must believe she is
ready.  In 2008, her team named her "Future Leader" at the annual Awards Banquet.  This year she plans to be even more
competitive than her previous season.  In her first year she qualified to state in Prose Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation,
Poetry Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation.  During this season Kirsten plans to compete in Prose Interpretation, Dramatic
Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation.
William Wild - Senior Member

Chapter President

William competes in his fourth and final season during 2008-2009.  He is a three-time NCFL National Qualifier (2006 and
2008, Extemporaneous Speaking; 2007, Declamation).  He has qualified for NFL Nationals twice (2007, Congress; 2008,
Public Forum Debate).  He has qualified to the state tournament in Policy Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Declamation,
Television Commentary, and Impromptu Speaking.  He tied for 4th place in the Individual Performer State Championship in
2007 (he tied with 2007 OGHS graduate Chelsea Caveny).  He was named the 2007 State Champion in Declamation for his
performance of
Advice for Youth.  In 2008, William won the state championship in TV Commentary and placed 2nd in the
individual All-Around.  This year, he plans to compete in Public Forum Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu
Speaking, Poetry Interpretation, Television Commentary, and Congress.  He is also a two-time member of the Mississippi
Youth Congress Delegation and the OGHS Mock Trial Team, and a member of the 2006, 2007, and 2008 State Champion
OGHS Forensic Team.  In 2008, his team awarded with the "Best in Debate" Award.
Melvin Smith

Historian

This will be Melvin's third season with Warrior Forensics.  He is a two-time NCFL National Qualifier (2007, Congress; 2008,
Congress).  In his first two years, he has qualified in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, and Declamation.  
This year Melvin plans to compete in Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Original
Oratory, Television Commentary, and Congress.  He is also a member of the 2007 Mississippi Youth Congress Delgation.
Austin Seeley - Senior Member

Sargeant-At-Arms

Austin begins his second year after being named OGHS's Rookie of the Year in 2008.  Just in one year he has already qualified
to the NFL National Tournament (2008, Humorous Interpretation).  In his first year he qualified to the state tournament in
Prose Interpretation, Poetry Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation.  He was a member of the 2007
Mississippi Youth Congress Delegation.  During the 2008-2009 season, Austin plans to compete in Lincoln-Douglas Debate,
Prose Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Storytelling, Poetry Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, Duo Interpretation,
and Congress.
Christian Green - Senior Member

Vice President

Christian also competes in his fourth and final season with Oak Grove Forensics.  In his three previous seasons he has qualified
for the NCFL National Tournament three times (2006, Dramatic Presentation; 2007, Dramatic Presentation; 2008, Duo
Interpretation) as well as the NFL National Tournament once (2008, Duo Interpretation).  He is a MHSAA state qualifier in
Humorous Intepretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, and Prose Interpretation.  At the 2008 state event,
Christian was names the State Champion in Dramatic Interpretation for his performance of
A Child Called It.  He along with
partner Kristen Greer, were named MFL District Champions in Duo Interpretation for their performance of
The Suessification of
Romeo and Juliet
.  In addition to Forensics, he also performs with the award-winning OGHS Drama Department.  Christian
performed in the 2008 SETC Winning Production of
Tales of Trickery.  He was named as the SETC Best Actor.  His team has
also awarded him with the 2008 "Best In Interpretation" and "DIVA" Awards.  As the new season begins, this 2007 recipient of
the Rose Bui Individual Sweepstakes Award plans to compete in Dramatic Interpretation, Duo Interpretation, Humorous
Interpretation, Prose Interpretation, and Storytelling.
